Data & backups

Your journal stays local unless you choose otherwise

Medication App uses a local database for the medication catalogue and intake history. Export, import, reminders, and Android backup are separate user or platform-controlled paths.

Local Room database

The app stores medication entries, saved amounts, intake records, timestamps, and related state in a database inside the app's local Android storage.

No developer cloud account

Medication App does not require an account and does not use an Adz Dev Coding cloud database for your medication journal.

Local diagnostics

Bounded troubleshooting events may be kept locally. They are not automatically transmitted to the developer.

Optional reminders

Android notification and exact-alarm access may be used to display reminders you configure on the device.

Export and import options

CSV export
Creates a spreadsheet-friendly copy of intake history. On supported Android versions it may save directly to Documents, with the system picker used as a fallback.
JSON backup
Creates a structured backup through the Android document picker. You choose the destination.
SQLite backup
Creates a raw copy of the app database for external analysis. This file may contain the complete local journal.
JSON import
Reads a backup selected through Android and replaces the current local journal when the import succeeds.

Exports may contain sensitive information

CSV, JSON, and SQLite files can include medication names, amounts, units, and intake dates or times. Do not publish or casually share them. Protect them according to the sensitivity of your journal.

Android and third-party providers set their own boundaries

  • The Android document picker may offer local storage or third-party providers installed on your device.
  • A cloud provider receives an exported file only when you choose that provider as the destination.
  • Android backup or device transfer may copy app data according to your platform and account settings.
  • Adz Dev Coding does not operate those storage or backup services.

Your controls

  • Review the destination before exporting a backup.
  • Keep independent copies only where you trust the storage location.
  • Delete exported files separately when they are no longer needed.
  • Review notification and alarm permissions in Android settings.
  • Review Android backup and device-transfer settings for your account and device.
  • Clear app data or uninstall to remove local app storage, subject to platform backup and restore behavior.
